Monster Hunter Wilds’ Latest Update Squashes Major Progress-Blocking Bug, PC Performance Issues Still Unresolved

Monster Hunter Wilds: Addressing Technical Challenges

Monster Hunter Wilds experienced a significant influx of players this past weekend, with over a million players on Steam. Despite its popularity, the game faced criticism for its technical performance. The developers are now focused on resolving these issues through a series of patches.

Initial Fixes and Updates

The first update from Capcom addressed some immediate concerns not directly related to gameplay monsters. It fixed repetitive weapon upgrading tutorials that hindered menu navigation and resolved an issue where certain features like ‘Grill a Meal’ and ‘Ingredient Center’ remained locked despite meeting the required progress criteria.

Ongoing Patches and Player Concerns

Another update followed shortly to correct more persistent problems in the ‘Ingredient Center’ and ‘Grill a Meal’ features. Also addressed was a critical bug that prevented a necessary NPC from appearing during the mission “A World Turned Upside Down”, which could block player progression. This fix was implemented on March 4th.

Further, Capcom acknowledged issues with the main mission quest “Omens”, which involves investigating regions to raise your Hunter Rank. Players at the Hunter Rank cap found they could not progress, although Capcom clarified that completion is still possible through additional HR points from optional quests or side missions. They apologized for any confusion caused by unclear mission descriptions.

Performance Issues and Community Feedback

The game’s demanding nature on graphics cards has been a point of contention, with fluctuations in performance across different environments. Capcom’s initial troubleshooting suggestions included updating graphics drivers and adjusting administrative settings, though these measures have shown limited success in stabilizing performance.

As the community continues to provide feedback, Capcom remains committed to enhancing the gaming experience, addressing both minor bugs and major performance issues through ongoing updates and patches.
