Introducing Dark Outlaw Games: A New PlayStation Studio Founded by Call of Duty Veteran

Jason Blundell, a veteran of Call of Duty, has recently announced his new venture with PlayStation. After the closure of his previous project, Deviation Games, Blundell is now starting Dark Outlaw Games, a new studio under PlayStation Studios.

In an interview with Jeff Gerstmann, Blundell expressed his excitement about the new opportunity. He mentioned that they have been working behind the scenes and will reveal more when they are ready. Blundell also highlighted the privilege of being a first-party PlayStation studio, emphasizing Sony’s selective approach to creating such partnerships.

Blundell’s history with Sony dates back to Deviation Games, where he collaborated with another Call of Duty veteran to develop an exclusive IP for PlayStation. Despite the closure of Deviation Games without releasing a single game, Blundell’s expertise in creating popular modes like Zombies for Call of Duty titles has positioned him as a valuable asset for Sony.

While the specifics of Dark Outlaw Games’ project for Sony remain undisclosed, Blundell’s track record in game development, particularly with the Call of Duty franchise, suggests an exciting future for the studio. With his experience in directing acclaimed titles like Black Ops 3, Blundell’s new endeavor with PlayStation is eagerly anticipated by gaming enthusiasts.
