Nexon Games has announced plans to end support for the PS4 and Xbox One versions of The First Descendant on June 19, 2025.
Despite this, the company has said that it will continue support The First Descendant on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S, although the PS4 and Xbox One editions will be delisted from digital storefronts. Speaking in a livestream this week, the team said that it had “increased the scale” of The First Descendant” and the studio was spending “a lot of effort and difficulty maintaining the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One builds,” as reasons for discounting those versions.
Since season 3 is a ‘mega season’ update for us, so we wanted to focus our development team on increasing player satisfaction.

The First Descendant was released for PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One on July 2, 2024. The game sees players assuming command of Descendants, which are powerful beings who possess mysterious powers and are the last hope for humanity, which has been invaded by an alien race known as the Vulgus.
Despite getting off to a strong start, player numbers for The First Descendant have been tumbling in recent months, with February 2025 recording the worst player count for the game to date.
