God of War fans can now preorder the upcoming 20th Anniversary Retrospective at Amazon. Published by Dark Horse, the two-book box set is filled with artwork and commentary on PlayStation’s popular action-adventure series. God of War: 20th Anniversary Retrospective releases July 8 for $100. Collectors will want to check out the luxurious Deluxe Edition, which is up for preorder for a roughly 10% discount discount at Amazon.

The God of War: 20th Anniversary Retrospective Set is a two-volume hardcover book collection that features artwork, behind-the-scenes materials, and exclusive interviews with key members of each game’s development team. Volume One: Greek Saga covers the original God of War Trilogy and its numerous spin-offs, while Volume Two: Norse Saga details the development of God of War 2016 and God of War: Ragnarok. Both volumes come boxed in an ornate slipcase. The books were written by Rick Barba, the author behind God of War: Lore and Legends, a recreation of Atreus’ journal published by Dark Horse in 2020.

### God of War: 20th Anniversary Retrospective – Deluxe Edition

The Deluxe Edition has a few flourishes and additional materials that will appeal to collectors and massive God of War fans. Both books have gilded page edges, ribbed spines, alternate cover art, and built-in ribbon bookmarks.
The upgraded books are stored inside a two-piece slipcase with unique artwork. The Deluxe Edition also comes with a bifold portfolio containing a pair of lithographs. One of the prints features artwork inspired by the PlayStation 2 games, and the other is based on the contemporary reboot.
The Deluxe Edition retails for twice the price of the standard, but Amazon is currently offering a nearly $20 discount, dropping the price from $200 to $181.
Several other pieces of God of War 20th Anniversary merch were also announced, including a new collection of art prints from Cook & Becker that will be available to preorder starting March 18. That will be followed by a 67-inch plush of the serpent Jormungandr you’ll be able to preorder at Fangamer from March 19.
Then on March 20th, preorders will open for a massive 13-disc Limited Edition Vinyl set that includes each God of War game’s soundtrack. A separate collection will also be available based on just the original trilogy. The last piece of major merch is a God of War 20th Anniversary T-Shirt Collection. Each game in the series is getting its own shirt featuring its logo in metallic gold print on black fabric. Preorders for the t-shirt collection go live March 21.
The new merch is part of Sony’s big God of War 20th Anniversary celebration. Sony is offering a free 20th Anniversary Fan Kit that includes desktop backgrounds and PSN avatars. Fans can also look forward to other upcoming events like free cosmetic DLC packs for God of War Ragnarok based on the original God of War and God of War II, discounts for the God of War games on PlayStation Store and Steam, an official art exhibit at Gallery Nucleus in Los Angeles, California, and more.
