In my pursuit of a scoop, I have spent today analyzing a smudgy image of a London bus sign from a Tides Of Annihilation trailer. I tried to determine if the new Arthurian slasher game accurately portrayed Britain’s public transport network. While I couldn’t confirm this, I can say that Tides of Annihilation’s boss fights look enjoyable. The trailer showcases flying golden swords to dodge, atomic axes to parry, and carpets of lightning to jump over.
If you prefer narrative context, there is a longer trailer from a couple of weeks ago introducing ivory-mannered heroine Gwendolyn and featuring a battle with the character Mordred. This trailer also includes the debated bus sign. The game involves fighting demi-gods from Avalon in a city devastated by extra-dimensional invaders. Gwendolyn possesses DMC-style dodges, combos, parries, grabs, and juggles, along with the ability to summon spectral Knights for specific combat roles.
In addition to regular street fights and boss battles, there are platforming sections that defy the laws of physics. Players may find themselves running along walls as buildings fold together or brawling on the ceiling in a lake of gore. The game also features vast stone colossi that must be climbed and subdued. While the concept may not be groundbreaking, it appears to be an enjoyable experience. There is no release date yet, but you can check out the Steam page for more information.
