If you have fond memories of battling the Covenant in Halo’s Firefight mode with your friends, you’re in luck. Halo Infinite has recently brought back the classic Firefight mode, originally seen in Halo 3: ODST.
Known as “Firefight Classic,” this mode is round-based, where you and three teammates work together to defeat endless waves of enemies. Each round consists of five waves, with three rounds making up a “set.” Your team has seven lives to share, and once they’re all used up, it’s game over.
Halo Infinite’s Firefight Classic now allows you to end a session after completing a set. If two teammates reach a designated “complete the mission” zone, your team will be extracted. Continuing on introduces new Skulls in rounds two and three, adding a fresh challenge.
Additionally, Forge maps have been included for Firefight Classic, featuring remakes of Halo 3: ODST’s Alpha Site and Security Zone, as well as Halo: Reach’s Courtyard. The Operation: Blue Team update that brought Firefight Classic also includes new content like the Nemesis map, PvP mode Hot Swap, and a new battle pass.
