Unleashing Baseball Icons: MLB The Show 25 Introduces Ted Williams, Cool Papa Bell, and Other Legends

MLB The Show continues its tradition of adding baseball legends to the game with the upcoming release of MLB The Show 25. Sony and San Diego Studio have revealed some of the iconic players joining the roster, including the legendary Ted Williams, one of the greatest hitters in baseball history.

Joining Williams are over 200 other legends, such as Babe Ruth, Jackie Robinson, Satchel Paige, Ken Griffey Jr., and Derek Jeter. New additions to the lineup include Roger Clemens, Manny Ramirez, Wilber “Bullet Joe” Rogan, and James “Cool Papa” Bell from the Negro Leagues. A trailer showcasing these stars in action has been released.

Additional legends featured in the game include Jose Bautista, Jason Kipnis, Lance Berkman, Bobby Abreu, Gil Hodges, Jason Varitek, Darren O’Day, Don Baylor, Bobby Grich, Jim Kaat, Ted Simmons, Preston Wilson, Reggie Sanders, and Hank Greenberg.

MLB The Show 25 will also highlight The Negro Leagues – Season 3, honoring the Black players who were excluded from Major League Baseball. This season mode will feature gameplay, historic footage, and storytelling from Negro Leagues Baseball Museum president Bob Kendrick. All Negro Leagues players from the previous seasons will be available at launch.

While MLB The Show 25 will not be available on PS4 and Xbox One or on Game Pass this year, it will be released on Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 on March 18. Players who purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition will have early access to the game on March 14.
