Competition Company and Tayon Studios Announce Rennsport Coming to Consoles
Competition Company and Tayon Studios have announced that their upcoming driving simulator Rennsport is no longer a PC exclusive and will be heading to ninth-gen consoles this year.
After progressing through various development stages, Rennsport, initially set for a PC launch in 2023, transitioned from a closed beta to an open beta in the summer of 2024. The game then entered Early Access and has since hosted prestigious esports events like the Saudi-backed ESL R1 series and the Esports World Cup in Riyadh in 2024. Despite offering paid DLC packs, progress has been relatively slow.
The announcement of a console version for 2025 comes as a surprise, with Nacon handling the publishing duties. Known for titles like Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown and the upcoming Endurance Motorsport Series, Nacon’s head of racing, Sebastien Waxin, stated, “This great upcoming simulation is part of our plan to develop Nacon’s racing division and offer a wide range of games to satisfy all types of gamers, including drivers eager to compete on some of the most exciting circuits in the world.”
While specific release dates are yet to be revealed, Rennsport will support full cross-platform play, allowing PC, PS5, and Xbox Series players to engage with each other. A unified release date is expected, likely in late 2025.
