Team Spirit Defeats DDoS Attacks and Tundra Esports to Claim Victory in DreamLeague Season 25

The Grand Finals of DreamLeague Season 25

Team Spirit emerged victorious in the grand finals of DreamLeague Season 25, defeating Tundra Esports in a thrilling 3-2 series that concluded on March 5. The competition was initially set to end on March 2, but a DDoS attack on Team Spirit players during game four led to a one-day postponement.

Team Spirit claimed the championship title along with a grand prize of US$290,000 out of the total prize pool of US$1 million. Additionally, they earned 4,620 ESL Pro Tour (EPT) points, which will contribute to their direct invite to Riyadh Masters 2025. This victory marked the end of a 10-month dry spell for Team Spirit, with their last tournament win dating back to June 2024.

On the other hand, Tundra Esports secured the second-place position, along with US$130,000 and 3,920 points. Tundra had been dominant in the Dota 2 scene earlier in the 2025 season, clinching victories at FISSURE PLAYGROUND #1 and BLAST Slam II in February, but their winning streak came to a halt with this defeat.

The Road to the Grand Finals

Team Spirit and Tundra navigated through a field of 14 teams, progressing through two Group Stages and a double-elimination Playoff to reach the grand finals. Tundra topped Group Stage 1, boasting a 13-1 record in Group A, while Spirit led Group B with a 12-2 standing. As the tournament progressed, PARIVISION emerged as a strong contender, eventually joining Spirit and Tundra in the Playoffs.

In the Playoffs, Tundra secured their spot in the grand finals by defeating PARIVISION, while Spirit fought their way through the lower bracket with victories over Chimera Esports and PARIVISION, setting the stage for the championship clash.

The Epic Showdown

The grand finals saw intense battles between Spirit and Tundra, with both teams showcasing exceptional skill and strategy. Yatoro from Team Spirit delivered standout performances, particularly in game three, where his stellar play secured a crucial victory for his team.

However, the finals were marred by a technical pause in game four due to a DDoS attack on Spirit’s players, leading to a remake of the match. Tundra capitalized on this opportunity, dominating the fourth game and forcing a decisive fifth game.

In the final showdown, Team Spirit demonstrated their prowess, taking an early lead and ultimately securing a convincing victory over Tundra. This triumph marked a significant achievement for Team Spirit, ending their title drought and solidifying their position in the competitive Dota 2 scene.
